Perfect Pushup Home Workout

Since it first came on the scene, I had been intrigued with the Perfect Pushup and interested in how it could benefit my home workout routine. However, I must also admit that I wondered if it was just another gimmick. After using the Perfect Pushup now for several weeks, as part of my overall fitness routine, I can honestly say that the Perfect Pushup is a worthwhile addition to my list of home gym equipment.

Like anything new, it takes a little getting used to, but the learning curve is simple. What will surprise many people, and described in the accompanying exercise DVD, is that you will most likely do fewer pushup repetitions with the Perfect Pushup than with standard pushups. However, this tells you something about how your muscles will work differently and harder. An analogy may be drawn by comparing the weight used in a standard barbell bench press versus a dumbbell bench press. Most of us simply cannot bench as much with a pair of dumbbells as we can with a barbell.

And if you think that the Perfect Pushup won't provide much of workout, then think again. The enclosed documentation and DVD include variations of regular grip, wide-grip pushups, narrow grip, and feet on chair versions of the exercise. There is a multitude of ways to vary the home workout, and make it more challenging.

Another benefit of the Perfect Pushup is that it also works your core abdominals. If we compare performing the dumbbell bench press with the Perfect Pushup, the latter will cause you to work your abdominals more because you keep your body rigid and abdominals contracted throughout the movement. During a bench press, your abdominals are more relaxed.

The Perfect Pushup is durable and well made. They are convenient a take up little space when not in use. Since they are lightweight, you can store them on a bookshelf. Something you would not do with say 35-pound dumbbells. The Perfect Pushup is inexpensive when compared to other home gym equipment.

At a minimum, the Perfect Pushup will add variety to your home workout, and augment the muscle-toning component. In just a short time, I have noticed an improvement in the muscle tone in my chest shoulders and back.
